About

My parents emigrated to the Netherlands in 1960, where I was born and raised before moving to Israel at the age of 34. Growing up in Amsterdam with a successful artist as a father, Shlomo Koren, I was immersed in the world of art from an early age. Frequent exposure to European art collections shaped my perspective and laid the foundation for my formal art education. I attended excellent schools, gaining knowledge in languages, history, and philosophy before studying at the art academy in Den Bosch, the Netherlands, where I refined the skills that would define my artistic career.

After moving to Israel, I learned the craft of frame-making, which opened doors to the local art scene, including museums, galleries, collectors, and fellow artists. I continue to provide fine frames to many within this creative community.

Though I exhibit infrequently—perhaps once every two years—my work has gained recognition and is collected by major art patrons. Having painted for over 30 years, I see my body of work as a continuous evolution, growing in depth and coherence. The energy and inspiration that drive my creative process remain as strong as ever, leading to new levels of sophistication and clarity in recent years.
